The Biggest Highlights From Portugal Home Week

Portugal Home Week confirmed and consolidated the international projection of the Portuguese Home Sector companies and generated new structuring knowledge for the sector, at an (inter)national level. The major international decision-makers were able to get to know the best of Portuguese production. The design event included lectures and debates with the participation of speakers such as Jodie Ellis, Nicholai Wiig-Hansen and Gabriel Tan.

Portugal Home Week brought international professionals and journalists directly to the sphere of influence of Portuguese companies. The design fair was attended by visitors from countries such as the USA, Canada, France, Spain, United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Belgium, and Nordic Countries.

The event aimed to promote the best of Portuguese home production, and generate synergies and new knowledge. It included 16 lectures and the participation of 58 speakers from a variety of national and international industries.

In the panel “Internationalization – North America”, for example, it was possible to understand the real needs, current trends, and emerging submarkets in the US, through the interventions of Ingrid Abramovitch and Jodie Ellis, and the difficulties of penetration in this same market perceived by national companies, represented by Miguel Paiva, Designer of Serip, and Isabel Cristina Torres, CEO of Mambo Factory, such as product certification.

Sustainable construction was one of the key themes at the Home Summit during Portugal Home Week. José Martos, CEO of Saint-Gobain Portugal, spoke about the importance of decarbonization in the construction industry. The current energy crisis is also an example of the need to implement changes in this sector.
